By Train:
Fast First Great Western trains run to and from London Paddington every half an hour, taking about an hour. There are also stopping services to London calling at a large number of stations, these run every hour and take about 90 minutes.
Cross Country Trains also run through Oxford, mostly running to/from Manchester and Southampton. These trains run approximately half-hourly in both directions. All of these trains stop at Reading going south and Birmingham going north.
There is a taxi rank at the station.
By Bus:
Oxford Express runs from London to Oxford City Centre, runs every 15 minutes and costs approx. £18 return
Oxford Tube runs from London to Oxford city centre runs every 10-20 minutes (depending on the time of day) and costs approx. £18 return
National Express run coach services to and from most cities and towns
There is a taxi rank at Glouster Green bus station.
Both the Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach operate local bus services in and around the city centre, train and bus stations as well as many outlying areas. The Oxford Bus Company operates a service (no. 15) between the Churchill hospital and the city centre. This service runs about every 12 minutes.
By Car:
From the east: M40 Junction 8 or 8a, take the A40 then A420 to Headington Centre and follow signs.
From the north : M40 junction 9, take the A34 then A40 northern ring road, turning off for Marston (B4150), then B4495 towards Headington and follow signs.
From the south and west: Approach from the A4142 Eastern ring road and B4495.
Car Parking:
There are very stringent restrictions on parking both on the hospital site and the surrounding areas.
The use of the Oxford Park and Ride service is recommended and these are direct to the hospital.
The Thornhill Park & Ride to the Churchill site runs every 20 minutes via Headington and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre(Bus no 600).
The Water Eaton Park & Ride to the Churchill runs Monday to Friday every 15 minutes from about 7.00am - 7.00pm.
There are, however, various patient and visitor car parks at the Churchill Hospital. There is new patient and visitor parking located directly outside the new buildings, called Car Parks 1 and 2. All staff car parks are prefixed with a letter, and patient and visitor car parks are numbered.
After being closed for the duration of the construction of the new Cancer Centre, the perimeter road has reopened. This is a one-way system from the junction with Roosevelt Drive, which is the entrance to the Churchill site, around to the exit from the site on Churchill Drive. There is a short section of two-way road along Churchill Drive past the old main entrance to OCDEM. Parking is 'Pay on Foot'. Pay on Foot means you pay when you are ready to leave, not in advance, and you pay for actual time parked. The first 30 minutes are free.
Please note that there are Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant disabled parking spaces located within the Pay on Foot car parks, and that these are subject to a charge.
